Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority, RTA, Saturday opened the last two phases of roads leading to Expo 2020 site.
Construction work under these two phases included a flyover linking Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Road and Expo Road as well as two flyovers on Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Road to ensure a smooth traffic flow to and from the site of Expo. The project also included bridges extending 7km and roads extending 43km in addition to three interchanges.
To mark the UAE hosting of the Expo Dubai, the UAE Balloon Team will organise Expo Dubai International Hot-Air Balloon Festival from October to December 2020 as part of the 15th UAE International Hot-Air Balloon Cup.
Captain Pilot Abdulaziz Nasser Alamnsory, UAE Balloon President, told a press conference that the Expo Dubai festival would be the largest ever balloon ride to be hosted in conjunction with the Expo Dubai which will attract more than 192 countries.
The UAE, through its humanitarian arm, the Emirates Red Crescent, ERC, provided 600 food parcels weighing 48 tonnes to the residents of Hadramaut Governorate, benefitting 3,000 people who are members of vulnerable Yemeni families in Al-Reida and Qusayr districts.
The beneficiaries thanked the UAE’s leadership, government and people for their support and humanitarian gesture.
Since the beginning of 2020, the ERC has distributed 2,910 food parcels at a total weight of 235 tonnes to over 14,550 people across the Governorate of Hadramaut.

The closing weekend of DSF will showcase firework displays from January 30 to February 1 at The Frame (7.30pm), The Beach (8.30pm), La Mer (9.30pm) and Al Seef (10.30pm).
